Pete Skirpstas

Pete Skirpstas joined the Golf staff at Stono Ferry in July, 2021. He brings twenty years of golf experience to Stono. Pete grew up in Medina, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland (Go Browns) where he worked at numerous public and private courses. Pete brings a heart of passion for Golf and with-it standards of excellence.

He has competed in professional Golf tournaments since 2015. He qualified and competed on the PGA Tour Latino America in 2015 and has since won over 20 professional events with his latest success qualifying for Final Qualifying Round of 23 US Open.

Pete has tremendous ambition to create the ultimate customer experience. He is also striving to complete his education with the PGA of America and receive his Class A Membership. Golf has made such a large impact on his life and played a major part in molding him into the person he is today.

Michael Eargle

Golf Course Superintendent

Michael Eargle has been The Links at Stono Ferry’s Golf Course Superintendent for over the past two decades. He received his Bachelor of Science in Agronomy at Mississippi State University and shortly after accepted the role of Assistant Superintendent at the famous Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, TX. Colonial Country Club is famous for annually hosting “The Colonial National Invitational” a long running PGA Tour Event where the best players in the world routinely visit.
In 1998, Michael found his way to Stono Ferry, and under his leadership has helped transform the Links at Stono Ferry into one of the best golf courses the Low Country has to offer. He desires for perfection gives him the drive to constantly improve his agronomical skills in order to provide consistent and always improving playing conditions that the Stono Ferry members and guests have come to expect.

Taylor Massey

Assistant Professional/ Teaching Professional

Taylor Massey joined the outside golf staff at Stono Ferry in January, 2024 after a 20 year career in commercial real estate marketing and public relations. In July of 2024, Taylor was promoted to Assistant Golf Professional and is currently responsible for daily club member services, tournament assistance, driving range and cart fleet management and daily outside operations.

Taylor is a 2005 graduate of the College of Charleston’s Communications School, a Valley Forge Military Academy Alumni and a 20-plus year resident of Charleston, South Carolina. From 1990 to 2001, Taylor lived and studied in Hong Kong, England, Saudi Arabia and Poland where he graduated high school at The American School Of Warsaw in 2001.

Taylor is currently a proud resident of the Stono Ferry community where he lives with his wife Charlene and two dogs, London and Ryka.

Chris Cobb

Chris Cobb, a 20-year Air Force veteran, found his calling on the golf course after his military service. He transitioned to become a skilled golf assistant and instructor, sharing his passion for the game with others, guiding them to improve their skills. Chris’s dedication extends beyond golf, as he actively supports fellow veterans in their journey to civilian life through charitable endeavors in programs like PGA Hope. Additionally, he is Stono Ferry’s merchandising manager, coordinating with dozens of vendors to ensure only the best brands are represented in the Golf Shop.

Richard Sierzega

Operation 36 Instructor

Richard is a Class A PGA golf professional and brings a wealth of experience in golf instruction.  He is First Tee and Operation 36 certified.  He teaches students of all ages and specializes in Junior Instruction.

After starting his career in the Western New York PGA Section, Richard more recently was a lead instructor for The First Tee in Aiken, SC.  In 2019, in partnership with Ben Sloan, he started the Stono Ferry Golf Academy for junior golfers ages 5-18 and adults.  Richard says, “The Operation 36 teaching program is the most innovative teaching program that I have ever seen; teaching the students from the green, back to the tee, and challenging each to shoot 36 or better from different yardages.”

Cameron Headden

Cameron Headden joined the Golf Staff at Stono Ferry in July 2025 and brings a strong background in coaching and mentoring junior golfers. Originally from Lexington, SC, Cameron grew up playing a variety of sports—baseball, soccer, tennis, basketball, and football—before finding his passion in golf. His love for sports and helping young athletes has become the foundation of his career.

With over six years of experience in the golf industry and nearing completion of his Class A PGA license, Cameron has worked closely with junior players both on and off the course. He served as an Assistant Golf Professional at Timberlake Country Club and Spring Valley Country Club, where he focused on helping players develop their skills in a supportive environment.

Cameron has also coached high school golf for the past two years, acting as Head JV Boys Golf Coach and Assistant Varsity Boys Coach at Hammond School in Columbia, SC. Under his leadership, the boys’ teams won back-to-back Region Championships and earned State Runner-Up honors in consecutive seasons. He also helped coach the Girls Varsity Team to a Region Championship.

Beyond the course, Cameron enjoys life with his wife, Rachel, and their two-year-old son, Charlie—a proud Gamecock fan who already shares his dad’s love for golf. Cameron and his family recently moved to James Island, where Rachel was appointed Associate Pastor at Bethany United Methodist Church. Together, they’re excited to call the Lowcountry home and be a part of the vibrant Stono Ferry and Charleston community.

Cameron is dedicated to helping every golfer grow in skill and confidence, especially juniors who are just beginning their journey in the game. His approachable, encouraging coaching style makes him a valuable resource for players and families alike.
